Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
I got a chance to play the NS4 88, 73 and Compact at NAMM and was blown away by the keyboard action, architecture, sound and most all, the independent effects, but I can't get over how there is no song/scene mode built in on such an expensive keyboard. I spoke with one of the product specialists who seemed well aware about the user concerns about this and it sounded like they were working on a solution involving the program groups. He did say that they removed the NS3 song functionality as it created user confusion when editing programs in song mode, which I understand, but there seems to be currently no way to organize your programs into songs/sets without duplicating programs that are used in multiple sets which technically does not use up any sound space, only program space. The OS is definitely not fully completed so hopefully they will address these concerns as they mostly did on the NS3, which took a long time.

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
It would be great if there was something coming up. Missing song mode is the only big downside why I'm not directly going for a NS4. I'm not that well prepared for an external solution: My sheet music app doesn't allow for MIDI commands in the middle of a song (in order to switch to the next program), and the program pedal won't help if I don't get all programs of a song to an adjacent place (which isn't possible if they aren't all song specific).

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
How about creating a second song in your sheet music app, identical to the first, except it sends the mid-song MIDI command? Then switching to your next song in the app (which is really just the same song with a different MIDI program change) might do what you want.FZiegler wrote:My sheet music app doesn't allow for MIDI commands in the middle of a song (in order to switch to the next program)
In conjunction with the above, maybe the sheet music app supports a foot pedal to go to the next song, if you don't want to have to tap the screen?FZiegler wrote:the program pedal won't help if I don't get all programs of a song to an adjacent place

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
The duplication either for the Stage's programs or the pdf files for the sheet music isn't nice anyway.
This why I asked whether Bandhelper supports setting virtual "next sound" buttons in the music sheet. This isn't possible what I found so far.
I decided to have several programs with the same name + a number.
Another hope is enhanced functionality of layer scenes, when we could store two complete sound setups on one program, if this ever will be released.

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
Similar to how Nord added list modes to the NS3 synth with button combinations that ended up being officially labeled in a later panel revision, I hope Nord adds Song mode in a future OS upgrade. I have no intention of carrying around an external solution to manage my song lists, so having programs for every song instead of multiple pointers to a single program like the NS3 might be my undesireable workaround for some time if/when I get the NS4.

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
Hello Guys...
I am the owner of a Nord Stage 3 Compact and now the Nord Stage 4 73. I am getting crazy about his!
What's the best workaround for the Song Mode? I belive that it's not viable to me to start inderting the Music Parts, starting at G11, G12, G13, and then another Song at G21, G22, etc...
How i would know the Songs and Organize this without access to a computer, just by using the Keyboard? On the Stage 3, it's super easy... only by simply pressing the "Organize" Button and with the dial of a knob! Awesome! Why make it hard on the NS4? Isn't this keyboard supposed to even better i terms of live preformance?
What do you guys use do prepare your live set with the NS4?

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
I use an iPad to manage all of my set lists. This is much faster and way more flexible than doing it directly on the keyboard.Jo Osantos1 wrote:Hello Guys...

and if you don't have an iPad, you can use the smartphone you probably already have, so it doesn't have to be a significant additional expense,

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
I feel the same way. I have been using Song Mode in the NS3 for years now and it is a really great feature. The NS4 looks like a great keyboard, but there is nothing about it which is pulling me to move from the NS3/Wave2 combination.WannitBBBad wrote:Similar to how Nord added list modes to the NS3 synth with button combinations that ended up being officially labeled in a later panel revision, I hope Nord adds Song mode in a future OS upgrade.
