Hi. I ususally sit down when I use my EX88, but at some gigs it would look better if I were standing. I'm looking for a stable stand. Recommendations?

I gig using my NS2 plus one other KB. This one has been rock solid for me, you have lots of options available. Standtastic

Using my ever faithful Quiklok double braced two tier X stand when I'm standing to play. Disadvantage is that there is some bounce when playing hard at the top or bottom of an 88. Advantage is it takes a second to pick up or set down since the centre hub doesn't need to be locked off separately (handy for those times when you have to clear a stage for another act).
Falcon2e's suggestion looks good but maybe a little more time consuming to set up?

Yes, I'm sure it does take a little more time to set up. Other guys have complained about the setup issues with this stand, but once you have made all of the initial adjustments, setup is pretty smooth. Cheers!

I'm using the ever famous K&M 18950, which is variable in height from 65cm up to 89cm. Adding the height of the keyboard / keybed, this might be enough (probably depending on how tall you are). Alternatively, you could use this stand with the expansion for 2nd keyboard (K&M 18952), that should do anyway.

Pro:
- One stand for sitting as well as standing.
- Very stable, with adjustable feet (for uneven ground)
- costs "only" 125€ (plus 50€ for second tier)
- compared to many other stands, it will hold less wide keyboards (like e.g. 49 keys) on the second tier, as these tiers are not mounted at the side, but more to the middle of the stand, without compromising the stands general width / stability too much (bottom tier for wide keyboards like the NS2 88)
- you can nicely position pedals, as the stands legs go up almost straight (not as with an X-stand)

I have this one - works great and very solid. (NP2 on the bottom tier) - lots of room for pedals too.

The 18950 looks fine and there is also the 18953..

Yes, but 18953 has 4cm less height, has les depth (only 26 cm), and you cannot push it together (for less width) for transport, if that is important for you...

For home, the Nord stand is great... zero bounce, maximum unattenuated hammer-action enjoyment for the neighbors one floor below
It's maybe a matter of taste, but to me it just looks right.

Anyway, I took it to the rehearsal room once, even putting in the leg extensions, and it was a royal PITA to set up and break down in a small space. Back to the X...
