A student I work with privately has a Nord Stage 76 and it is already experiencing keybed problems. The clacking sound reminds me of what I heard and soon troubleshot with a Fatar ST900. A plastic nib kept the "hammer" lever from travelling too far and when it failed the action would slam up into the underside key cavity. I solved it by putting felt padding to the underside of the key. Just to make things clear. I do not use Nord products- I prefer using a midi controller with external sounds. I've owned many many controllers from simple 3 octave desktop setups to a Roland A-30/33/37 type to my present one - a Fatar Studiologic SL990XP. The XP is a VERY flawed controller but I've learned to work around it. I got it from Sam Ash in PA for under $400. It does not transmit sustain message on any channel by channel 1. Fatar refuses to even admit they have a flawed controller still for sale. I digress-
I'm wondering if others using Nord keyboards have had keybed problems and if they know if Fatar makes the keybed. Thanks, John Poole, see: wyncoteacademy.org faculty if curious.

Re: the keybed design of the Stage EX76
1) Yes, the Nord Stage uses Fatar keybeds.
2) One of the keys on my Stage Classic 76 has the same problem, but it got a beating at a gig, so I don't blame it. It doesn't affect my playing that much, but the "clicking" sound is a bit annoying.
