Sample Library Failure

Post by Deleted User 14127 »

I just got back from a rehearsal, where my unit was still functioning fine, but now at the start-up process, I got the error saying some of my samples in my sample library were corrupted. The error is shown in the video you can find here:

It says 'SampLib Failure: [insert name of sample]', and then alternates between samples that are corrupted. When I connect the instrument to the Nord Sound Manager (V6.86), those samples are shown in red, with the error message 'Broken - Invalid checksum'. The number under 'Version' is then very high and unrealistic, and of course incorrect. The other samples look fine. In the Sample Manager I am then asked to delete those samples, and then restart the keyboard. If I do so, I get the error message that another load of samples is then corrupted, and this is an endless loop, at the end of which I am left with no samples at all.

Please note that I am running the latest operating system on my Stage 2, and that I am using the latest version of the Sound Manager.

I have tried under 'File' in the Sound Manager the 'Format' several times, and after re-downloading all samples from Clavia's site, and re-downloading them to the instrument, the same thing happens. I've tried 'Clean Deleted Space' as well.

I need my Nord badly this Saturday. Is there any way to fix this, or to at least get a replacement somehow?

Try cross posting this in the general NS forum, rather than the 'Programs' section. You're more likely to get a response there. Good luck!

No crossposting, please. This is the right forum.

Sorry, didn't realize about the cross posting rule.

OP's issue seemed much more technical about a software issue and less about actual programs...

Ensure your friend has the latest OS on NS3 and the latest version of Nord Sound Manager + try on different computer(s) if possible

Try restoring from one of his backups or the factory restore file on the Nord website. If it works, then the issue was likely an anomaly (like a power surge or extremely rare software bug) that corrupted the data that was loaded. If there's still a problem after restoring a known good file, then it's more likely to be a hardware issue that requires diagnosis and repair.
