It's just me or the same exactly sound on NS3 sound more bright and thinner than on NS2?
Is there any oficial changes on preamp out?
I tried on Bosie lrg, Rhodes, Classic Waves, etc...
Seems so diferent to me...

{EDITED} PLEASE JUMP TO PAGE 4 FROM THIS TOPIC TO MORE EFFECTIVE TESTS
Does anyone notice a quite noticiabe change in velocity cross layers in piano section on NS3 Compact?
It is sounding so diferent and restricted from NS2.
I made this following record using the same sample, no effect, no compression, same line in level, both volume in max, 6db resonance level boost to both, exactly same playing at NS3 controlling NS2 through MIDI out from it. Same everything,
These are the results I got. What you guys think?

I think that you should make the test in a different way, because velocity curves are potentially different when playing on the NS own keyboard or via MIDI, so by driving NS2 via MIDI while playing from NS3 you are introducing a discrepancy in the comparison
You should rather create a single MIDI file and play it to both NS3 and NS2, then compare the results.

Alternative: play both NS3 and NS2 at the same time via MIDI from a 3rd (master) keyboard (better if weighted/hammer action) so that you are 100% sure they "play the same data".

In the NS2 the external section always responds different to the internal control. Try it yourself by setting Local to Off and plug the MIDI out to thr MIDI in.

I’ve already done that in the other thread where I posted my recording.
I recorded a MIDI track (played on the NS3 compact) and played it back, recording it to audio on both the NS2 compact and the NS3 compact.
The difference in velocity sensitivity is the same.
The Stage 3 compact pianos play MUCH more nicely than the Stage 2 compact’s did, and I’m sure it’s due to the changed velocity response.

Good one... I have a PC2X 88 so I can play both pianos with increased width btw.

My Stage 3 is sounding very hard in lower velocities and dynamic changes that was pretty easy and natural to do in NS2, now I have to struggle to get the same dynamic playing in NS3.
Could it be something related with my especific NS3 piece??
Just to add. My NS3 is, power supply 115 300ma 50/60hz, USA made for, Rev2.01 (or 2.10), OS v.1.32. Could this make any diference?
Still on time, just to clear my mind.
Does the Eq section on NS3 is sounding and responding completely diferent than NS2? Like, in Treble and Low for instance?

I missed that thread, but then you should also do the opposite (play on NS2 then playback the recorded MIDI to both NS2 and 3) because your playing is influenced by the "internal velocity curve" of the instrument on which you are actually playing.
That's why I suggested the alternative to use a 3rd keyboard that should be "neutral" and make the test more reliable to determine where the difference actually lies, imho.
