Relocating the Rotary Control Jack

I'm looking for some/any suggestions where I could re locate the Rotary Control jack , where it wouldn't get so much physical abuse.
I use the 3 position rotary control switch on my C2D which naturally, gets plugged into the jack on the rear panel. That's my forever set up so, the switch stays screwed on to the underside of the lower manual, and the plug stays plugged into the jack. The wire runs underneath the board, and I've got it securely taped with good 'ole Gorilla tape. However with constant packing and unpacking - in and out of the case, the wire did finally fail near the plug. In fact, I'm going to suggest to the NORD folks that for those using the rotary switch, consider adding a second jack on the front, near the lower left .

Hmm, that's a tough one to solve without some custom wiring. If it were me, I'd consider one of these options:

- Find a killer tech that could hardwire the switch to the Nord (that would entail drilling into the chassis and then tapping into the innards - a bit risky!)
- Disconnect the wire from the switch and add a female jack to the switch so you can simply attach the cable each time vs. leaving it in place where it gets worn down

You can try one of those really flat right-angle plugs (assuming you can get them in TRS) and tape some of the cable against the back of the C2, but I’d go for drilling a hole behind where the half moon sits, running the cable across the inside and soldering it to tad terminals of the socket. Not trivial, but only one hour, covered by the half moon switch, and nothing outside the organ.
