Hallo,
I was about to buy the new Eletro 6 HP - but did not realize that the Setlist Mode is gone! I use this with my Eletro 5 on all gigs. You have 4 programmes per Song in the Setlist, that works wonderfully. So I really dont understand why to remove this? Could it be added with a software update again? I understand that it is in the Stage 3, right? So is this maybe just to get the people buy the Stage?
I'm really worried about this and won't buy the Electro 6 now!!!
The described way to handle this with multiple copies of programmes is no replacement in my opinion! I use the same sounds again and again in several songs. Also I like to have 4 programms / Song in the setlist.
There is no way to replace this functionality now - am I right?
So, what do you think? I really would like Clavia to add this functionality again - if you read this, I would buy the board then.... At the moment this would be a step back!!!
Regards
Carsten.

If I ain’t getting everything wrong here, Song Mode should be a “extended Set List Mode”
I’m sure you can use one program in multiple “Songs” as it just referes to the Program.
I know the video describes the functionality for S3, but should be the same for E6

Hi,
unfortunately not. This is exactly how it works in the Electro 5. For Electro 6 this functionality - neither set list nor Songmode is not available...

There is no difference in the ability to use the same sounds over and over again. If you have a Program called "My Favorite Rhodes" which you want to use in 10 songs, the process for doing it is basically the same on an E5 (or NS3) as it is on an E6. The difference here is that, if a year from now, you have a new favorite Rhodes sound you'd like to use in all those songs, wth the E5/NS3, you could change the one "My Favorite Rhodes" program, and the entries for all the songs that used it would change, whereas on the E6, you'd have to copy the new program into all 10 song locations (pages).

That's the same. Each page can be a song. Each page has 4 programs. You can re-order pages. (The NS3 uses sets of 5 Programs, instead of sets of 4 as on the NE5/NE6.)
The other big difference, though, is how many Program and Song/Page locations there are. On the NE5, there are 400 programs, plus the 200 (I think) set list entries (songs) which allow you to access that many groups-of-4 of those programs in additional orders without using up any of the 400 Program locations. On the NS3, there are 400 programs, plus the 400 song locations which let you similarly access that many groups-of-5 of those programs in additional orders without using up any of the 400 Program locations. On the NE6, each Page (group of 4 Programs) that you look at as a Song (i.e. they are copies of Programs you have elsewhere, conveniently regrouped for accessing in different songs) takes up 4 of your 400 total Program locations. This could be the dealbreaker if you have lots of songs. 50 songs arranged this way on an E6 may be manageable (leaving you 200 Program locations not dedicated to songs), the 200 songs of an E5 or 400 of an NS3 would be impossible.
One thing I don't know is whether you can name Pages on an Electro 6, as you can name Songs on an NE5/NS3. It's not mentioned in the manual, I haven't seen any videos on this, and I haven't seen one in the flesh, maybe someone here with an NE6 can answer that. This could be a significant difference.
Anyway, a lot of this is supposition rather than first hand experience, so if anyone with hands-on experience with these different models finds an inaccuracy, by all means chime in!

I have an NE6. No, you can not name your pages. I typically only have one program per song so it doesnt bother me. One of the main reasons I went for the Nord is the hands on control. I'm sure If I had to, I would just name the sounds as Song1, Song2, and so on. I like the simplicity of having one place for everything, but that may just be me. I got tired of menu diving on my previous keyboard. Hope this helps.

Ah, and yes, now I also see in the manual, "In Page view, the program range, i.e. "G:31-34", is displayed but only the name of the first program is shown for each page." So it sounds like the way to access pages in a manner equivalent to Songs on an NE5/NS3 is to rename the first program of a (song-designated) Page with the name of the song it is for. That way you can locate (and re-order) your songs by song name, as on an NE5/NS3.
But I guess that also means that you no longer know what sound it is. To get back to my earlier example, let's say your first sound in a Song-Page is "My Favorite Rhodes" and now, to be able to locate the page as a Song, you rename that sound/location to be "JustTheWayUR". Well, a year later, when you come up wth that improved Rhodes sound and want to change all instances in all your songs, as I'm understanding it, it will not be immediately apparent that you used that sound in that song, you'd have to know (or have maintained a list of what your first-position sounds were in all your songs).
Now, whether it is important for most users to be able to globally change all instances of a given sound is another question entirely. I was just noting this difference as a consequence of the new approach, but in the real word, I don't know that it's particularly important to many people.
ETA: Another way to address this, though--and something I'd probably want to do anyway because I would always like a visual confirmation of exactly what sound I'm using--is to still include a version of the sound name, even with the song name. So I might always use RHO as an indicator for my favorite Rhodes sound, and then I'd always know that was the sound I was using even if a location used the song name, and I'd also always be able to find it for future replacement. So "JustTheWayUR" might instead be "JustTheWayUR-RHO"

Okay, thanks for these "workaraounds". It would be also necessary to be able to rearrange complete "pages" (Songs) for my gigs.
This is what made the NE5 so handy. I've got my songs there and with the sound manager on the PC I can quickly get the order of that next gig... When I learned, that they implemented this functionality in the Stage 3, I thought, OK- they put this useful feature now in the next generation of their flagship - but I did not expect, that they would remove this in the next electro model. Very poor strategy.
I still hope, Nord can implement this again in the software of the electro (Naming theses "pages" would do it maybe - of course with the possibility then to rearrange complete pages (or lets call them SONGS)...
I really had appreciated to have the seamless transitions and the cross-fade splits and layer/split capabilities of three independent sound engines... But as I use the setlist function so often and really like this - I will not buy the new model now and stick to my Electro 5 till this is maybe implemented.
Best wishes
Carsten.

That function is still there. You can re-order pages either from the front panel (Organize mode) or from the Sound Manager.
Summing it up, I think the new method with Organize Mode is similar to the old Set List mode, except
...what we used to call a song (i.e. a group of 4 song-related programs) is now just another kind of page (that is, every group of 4 sounds is a page, whether those sounds are grouped by song or not)
...these song groups (the pages that you are using for songs) now include the actual programs, instead of pointers to programs which are themselves located elsewhere
...you'd use the actual name of the song as (at least part of) the name of the first program of a song group (instead of song titles being completely separate from the names of the sounds they contain)
...you can't have as many songs as you used to
But I don't think there is any effective difference in your ability to access and re-order your saved songs. Again, I haven't seen a 6 myself, but this is how it appears to me.

Well, I will have a look at our store here in Hannover.
I realize, they wrote in the manual, that the "Pages" somehow replace the "Setlist". Of course at the moment this seems not to be a good replacement to me: I have 157 songs at the moment, that would not be possible with the Electro 6. The 6 has 416 programs and if you have 4 programs / page, that means 104 "songs" (= Pages) are possible. Also to have to name the first program in a page like the song is not very convincing.
With the Organize-View on the board it should be possible to rearrange the "Setlist"=Pages, OK. But in the Soundmanager on the PC, this is much more comfortable within the Setlist-register. There is no "Page"-register to rearrange these pages.
I dont see any reason why NORD did not implement the SONG-Mode from the Stage 3 here. This would make sense. Or there is some memory left, to implement SETLIST again... And make it available again within the PC-Program (Soundmanager). At least an improvement could be to let the user give PAGES a dedicated name.

True.

Well, the NE6 manual says that "programs and pages can also be organized using the Nord Sound Manager" so maybe that is only an option that comes up when you are actually attached to an NE6?
