SHAPE OF YOU samples

Recently (last night) threw this project together for a local request and thought I'd share the effort here. Bart has already posted a simple SHAPE OF YOU sample which is perfectly fine. This one here contains nine different loops from different parts of the mix. In stereo the resulting .nsmp file was 8.4MB, which is much larger than I like, so I reworked it in mono tonight to cut that size in half. Still, this illustrates the impressive Nord compression. More than 105 seconds of audio, ~18MB in stereo .wav files and the resulting .nsmp was less than half that size.

PS -- I know that it's good practice to post demo mp3s with sample posts, but anybody actually interested in this sample must surely already know what it sounds like, yes?

Wait, so this isn’t the marimba-like synth sound for people to play, but a loop of the sound being played?

yes, sampled audio loops

personally I am very anti loop playing, but I know that there are others who are not. This was a "special order" project for someone, and since I had done the work anyway, I figured that I might as well share with anyone else who might have interest.

don't recall where I saw this, but very fond of a sigline quote from someone else (in electro-music.com?) which has stuck in my brain for years now:

"pressing 'play' does not constitute making music"

bless, pablo

I remember this one as "Pressing play does not constitute a performance"...

Sorry guys, in many electroacoustic music concerts, pressing "play" is indeed the performance.
