Where to find the correct FUSE?
I was playing when someone tripped on a cable and it shorted everything out and blew the fuse in my Nord Electro 6D.
I cannot, anywhere in Australia, find a replacement Fuse. Everywhere seems to sell the exact fuse I need in a 'quick blow' version. This works most of the time, but due to the initial surge of power when turning on my keyboard, quite often it will blow and i'll have to replace the fuse. I've gone through about 15 fuses and I'm often reluctant to turn my keyboard off if I intend to play it again later, as I might have to deal with changing another fuse.
I can't find anywhere local that sells them. And overseas sellers charge AUD$50+ to send the small item and shipping time is about 30+ days.
Does anyone know where I could find what I'm looking for? I need a 160ma 250v 5x20mm slow blow fuse. Or does anyone know of an alternative?
Thank you!
Joe

Hi Does RS Components have an Australian shop? I just cannot believe that an entire country won't have T fuses.

If you haven't tried already, search under Australia Electronics Distribution. --I don't know if these are on shore for you.
Another alternative: Use the North American size fuse 3AG (6.3 mm x 32 mm / 0.25"x1.25") at the EU-rated current. The Nord fuse holder accommodates both EU and NA sizes, but the size it holds depends on the screw cap (both options 5mm x 20mm and 0.25"x1.25" available).

I see that https://au.element14.com/ carries the North American version of the fuse. I don't know the EU fuse part number so can't check if they carry it.

I plugged in 125mA-150mA Slow Blow, In stock:
https://au.element14.com/w/c/circuit-pr ... c-in-stock
See what they have to say about cost and shipping times

Re: Where to find the correct FUSE?
Hey guys,
Thanks for your replies!
I saw both those sites when I was looking around. As they're branches of overseas electronics stores, I had never heard of them and wanted to check their reviews. For the Aussie branches, there are so many reviews saying they were told 4-5 business days and it's been over a month, they claim to have 1000's of products in stock, then when you purchase an item, get an email saying it's not in stock, etc, etc. So I was reluctant to purchase. I've found an Australian based store that I will call on monday to double check they're in stock, but I have to buy 30 fuses minimum
One last question though, will a 150ma slow blow fuse work? Because they are available. It's just the 160ma slow blow fuse that seems impossible to find in Australia...

Re: Where to find the correct FUSE?
SOLVED
I've been chasing the fuse that came with my Nord - I didn't realise other current ratings could be used... Finally looked on the back or my Nord and and saw the recommended fuse rating was a "T 125mA L 250v" and I found that locally in about 20 seconds.

I'm glad you found what you needed.Neathway wrote:SOLVED

Earlier discussions on the forum listed 125mA and 150mA for the fuse value on 230V AC, so I think your new part's current rating is okay.
Sorry to hear the company I suggested didn't stock product on-shore in Australia. --I checked that they showed an Australian address, but I guess that's just where they want you to send the money.
Thanks for following up and closing the thread.

Re: Where to find the correct FUSE?
Hey, I just arrived to Australia (also) from the US and blew the fuse (I assume) when plugging the Nord Electro 6 HP into the Australian power source.
1) I'm hoping I didn't do any further damage to the keyboard
2) To the best of knowledge this is what I should get: Cooper Bussmann, 300mA Glass Cartridge Fuse, 6.3 x 32mm, Speed T
(On the back of the nord it says 300mA 250)
If anyone can affirm that before I put it in the keyboard and blow it up that would be appreciated

Re: Where to find the correct FUSE?
I know the forum grumps will come back with the right answer about the fuse and the switch and the links to the other 374 posts on this topic, but just a quick one....did you also bring your US laptop and your US TV and your US amplifier and your US hairdryer with you? Cos...no never mindmatthewnord wrote:Hey, I just arrived to Australia (also) from the US and blew the fuse (I assume) when plugging the Nord Electro 6 HP into the Australian power source.
