MP3 do not play on iOS anymore

Hey guys,

after having updated my Apple iPhone and iPad to the most recent iOS version 15 I cannot play any of the MP3’s which are embedded in many sound threads here in this forum. “Klicking” on the red MP3 file changes the icon play to pause but there is no sound. Volume is pulled all the way up and the device is not on mute.

Anyone else having the same problem or/and any idea how to solve it?

Maybe Johannes can tell which kind of plug-in is used here for playing MP3’s from a thread, to be able to check if this is a known issue with the new Apple OS’ ?

Have you tried different browsers like chrome, opera, firefox, I mean other than safari? Default browsers on every OS are mostly not the best out there.

I use Chrome on my iOS devices, but since all browsers on iOS have to use the same rendering engine (WebKIT) it might not matter much which browser is used there … I haven’t checked on MacOS yet

Brave browser (based on Chrome) works fine. Just in Safari 15 (macOS) it doesn't...

… and it does not work with any of the available browsers on iOS … the Apple cosmos is disconnected since all iOS browsers and Safari on macOS are using the same engine

Still the same problem here, the embedded MP3 player does not work on any browser for iOS

It would be helpful to know which plug-in is used by the forum software to play MP3 files from the browser, anyone know this?
