Sound volume issues with Electro 5HP
Two issues:
#1. Periodically the organ patches lose volume by half or less. My sound repair guy could not create the issues in his shop so he wouldn't do anything for it. None of the other patches I use are affected. Just the organ.
No pedals used and a single line out to an amp. Sometimes a reboot solves the issue but it soon comes back. From cold it lasts about an hour or so. Could it be overheating? Happens in rehearsal. I've not taken it to gigs since this started happening.
#2. When connected to my macbook pro through an interface using Garageband, the input level is low. For a moment or two the volume is normal then drop a tad...enough to affect playback volume negatively after recording.
I used my friends Electro 4 as a midi controller and it worked perfectly. Same set up, so it had nothing to do with computer or software settings.
Most disappointing since I love this keyboard. Would replacing the motherboard solve the issues?
Any comments and ideas would be much.appreciated

Re: Sound volume issues with Electro 5HP
Hello, I have an Electro 4 and have had the same issue. I posted previously inquiring about the lower overall volumes of the organ patches. There were several responses involving lowering the gain on non organ saved programs and increasing the gain on saved organ programs. This has worked worked the problem of overall organ volume. (I continue to believe that we shouldn't have to do a work-around). But this does not solve the problem of the patches losing volume while playing the gig. At first I thought I was crazy and/or the other guys were just getting louder. But I know the volume drops. this problem with the organ volume kept me from buying an Electro 5 or 6. I don't know how man other users have this volume problem.

Do you have any other gear connected via MIDI to the NE5HP when this problem happens?

OK, I asked to exclude external causes; I am thinking of the possibility of a defect at the CtrlPed jack level, have you tried to deactivate the CTRL Pedal on the Organ section (or to connect an expression pedal)?Steve Capper wrote:I have no other gear connected via Midi

Not sure how to deactivate the CTRL Pedal on the Organ section. I haven't used my expression pedal for a long time.

CTRLPED switch on NE5 is in the Part Lower/Upper section, see NE5 manual paragraph 3

Re: Sound volume issues with Electro 5HP
Hello everybody,
I´m touring at the moment and I have the exact same problem with my organ engine on a 5 D.
A significant volume and (and sound) drop during the gig. Being it from temperature or from stage fog - I don't know ... but at the moment it gets worse and worse ... just came back playing 5 shows with more or less troubles. During soundcheck the organ works like a charm.
How did you get rid of your problem?
best, Stephan

Re: Sound volume issues with Electro 5HP
Hello, have the same problem with 6D - organsection,
i could also provoke this error by plugging in / out the two output-plugs or the expression-plug
but i still couldt not solve the problem
Any suggestions?
