Nord Stage 4 - Pedal Noise

Hello fellow Norders!

I’ve recently bought the Stage 4 73. I don’t really want to fork out what Nord are charging for the Sustain Pedal 2 and I noticed the Kawai F10-H is almost identical, so I bought one.

The pedal noise works but it’s really quiet (even at +6dB) and I can’t get the thud sound. I’m not sure if this is normal behaviour. I can produce the thud when toggling pedal type but can’t with the pedal. Maybe Nord modified the pedal before putting their logo on it?

Video attached for clarity.

Any input would be welcome. Cheers!

I’m using the Kawai GFP-3 and it works perfectly with pedal noise and all other triple pedal functions. Not sure what the differences are between the two pedals.

Is that sound supposed to be desirable? I am not a serious piano player, so I really don't know. With all of the criticisms of the keys being noisy, I can't imagine anyone playing would want to hear this-

I personally find it desirable. If you’re a solo, percussive pianist it really helps to add character.

The Kawai F10H may have a different pot and/or TRS wiring compared to that of NSP2: is the pedal set/recognized properly in NS4 Damper pedal System settings
