Hi everyone, my question is the following.
I really enjoy my Electro D5 but I wonder how I can assign two different synths or sounds to the left and right splits in a way I can edit the parameters of both completely independently from each other?
I mean let's say that I want to assign a french horn to synth number one on the left split of the keyboard and a jazz guitar to the right. Both are categorized as synths.
The manual says it is possible but doesn't explain how. (Or maybe I'm just too stupid to be able to find it... )
Anyway, all I get is two separate engines producing the same sound and every edit I make count for both engines simultaneously.
Thank you.

Hi,
I assume, you mean an Electro 5D. On the Nord web site, it's described as:

Which means, you can't play two different synth samples at the same time. You only can play two different engines together - or two organ layers.Bi-timbral sound generation: Use two sound engines simultaneously (Organ + Organ, Organ + Piano, Organ + Sample Synth or Piano + Sample Synth) set up as a layer or a split

Please forgive me, but it is always a great surprise for me how many people there are who do spend a good amount of money for a nord without taking some 20 or 30 minutes for reading through the manual which is online available or going through the detailled specifications on the instrument‘s website.Knarph wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 17:18 Hi everyone, my question is the following.

Oh oh oh.
In your case: 1 engine organ, 1 engine piano and 1 engine sample sounds whereof two can be combined as layer or split.
Cheers from rainy Germany

I wonder if it is possible to create a sample with one instrument on the left channel and the other in the right channel.
If you can pan the sounds, that would be similar to mixing them

Re: Two different samples coming from two different engines simultaneously
Yes, but if you‘d use this sample solely over all octaves you cannot play individual notes with only one of the two sounds.
A sample file with two sounds, split in the middle of the keybed, may help.
Cheers
