Hi, I am new to Nord:)
I just purchased a Nord Piano 5 & love the sound over my beyerdynamic headphones. I also wanna play for people and I have a bit trouble finding suitable speakers. I've tried some KRK studio monitors, which I really didn't like (the piano sounded like a cheap keyboard without any full sound or bass). Does anyone have some recommendations what speakers/amps/PA could work for me?
Soundwise I am looking for:
- Rather soft sound (not sharp)
- Strenght in the Low keys (enough bass/ full sound in the lower keys)
And budget-wise for something around 500-800€.
I will mainly play at home for small groups of people or practise for myself. Every now and then I will play outside for a small group (but more like once a year, so maybe less important).
I would love to have a speaker that I can put on the floor (nothing elevated).
Would be great to also be able to connect a microphone (preferably with ability to modify the sound a bit with reverb).
Does anyone have some recommendations?
Thaanks!

Re: Looking for speaker recommendations for nord piano 5
Welcome to the forum!
This question has been asked -- and answered -- literally hundreds of times here. I would suggest you start by looking through the "Accessories and Amplification" section.
"Playing at home for friends" will probably lead you to home stereo systems as near-field monitors won't cut it. Just plug your NP5 into whatever system you'd use at home.
"Playing out occasionally" will lead you to either (a) a pair of 8" self-powered PA speakers, or (b) a single column-type line array speaker system. There are many choices within each category. Given your comments, you're going to want a small subwoofer as well.
"Connecting a microphone" is usually done through a mixer -- either a separate one or one built-in to the speaker unit in some cases. Effects like reverb are usually only found on dedicated mixers and not built-in ones.
Can you do all of that within your budget? Not likely, even if you buy used.
A great keyboard played through crappy speakers will sound like a crappy keyboard. Also, I've never regretted spending money on really nice audio gear.
Best of luck!
