NS4 Broken Key - Need to Repair
I broke a key on Nord Stage 4. See attached picture. The one C key needs to be replaced. I live in Los Angeles area and will be calling Advanced Musical Electronics tomorrow (Monday). Does anyone know if the Nord keys are custom to the Nord? If so, do I need to source this specific component first?? Is there a component source in USA?
Any input would be appreciated.

Re: NS4 Broken Key - Need to Repair
They should be able to get you lined up with a replacement fairly quickly. Looking at your picture, I'd suggest covering your NS4 as much as possible to prevent dirt from getting down between the keys, otherwise you might end up with some sensors not triggering properly. Take care.

I can't help you because I live on the other side of the pond, but just out of curiosity...what happened to your NS4?
It's also missing a knob and covered in dust...it's supposed to be a newly released, fresh-out-the-shop instrument but instead it looks like a decades-old workhorse, that's been through too many battles to count!

The keyboard itself is from an Italian manufacturer: Fatar. But they don't send spare parts to customers. Your sources in the US therefore are: a) the national Nord distributor American Music & Sound (CT) or b) Syntaur (TX?). You should be able to get the missing knob from both as well.

Re: NS4 Broken Key - Need to Repair
Based on the amount of dust on your panel, I'd suggest covering your keyboard as much as possible when not in use. The dust will get in between the keys even after your broken one is fixed and eventually affect the sensors. Perhaps ask the repair folks to do a thorough cleaning while it's open. Take care
