Hi -
I have a NS4 but I've recently fell in love with the Moog Sub37. I loved the sound of it, but I don't really know if I can justify buying it after I spent the money to get the NS4.
Are there ways to get the NS4 to easily produce sounds similar to the Moog Sub37? Would love a guide or patches if anyone's got a link.
Thanks so much.
P.S. I know the NS4 won't get the exact Moog sound, but close enough is OK. I'm just writing folk/indie-rock songs and am not that picky about the exact tone.
NS4 - how can it sound like Moog Sub37?

Re: NS4 - how can it sound like Moog Sub37?
There’s going to be some (or a lot of) overlap between various synths, but the reason these different synths exist is that they all have different specialties beyond the overlap. Moog themselves make multiple different synths, right?
To your question: the „LP M“ filter is the classic Moog four-pole ladder filter. That and filter overdrive (stage 4 has three degrees of that) are the hallmarks of the Sub series (and other Moogs like the Memorymoog and the Minimoog — though the latter has much less distortion when properly calibrated).
