Organ section NS4
Organ section NS4
Can we hope that with the new Nord organ3 the organ section in the NS4 will also be improved with an update ? Maybe NS4 will get the same organ improvements?

Re: Organ section NS4
If the new updated B3 model find its place in an Electro 7 and it is a significant update I think this may result in a NS4EX. The current NS4 is just two years old and its 4-5 years until a NS5. Optimally if it feasible it could be done by a firmware update. When the Nord C2D was introduced Nord actually made a firmware to update the C2 engine.

Re: Organ section NS4
It would be a bad case if Nord don’t do anything for the NS4 owners to let them improve their organ sounds. For me the organ sound is the most important engine of the Nord, then the piano and at last the synth.

Re: Organ section NS4
To be realistic, in the past versions of Nord Stage the Organ engine was never updated if not for minor things or bugs. When someone buys a NS4 he/she knows (can test) how its organ is and there is no promise by Clavia it would be upgraded.

Re: Organ section NS4
Yes, it’s a pity. I have owned a N5D, N6D which I replaced for a NS3 and one year ago the NS4. All compacts. I asked for a demo in the shop but that was not so extensive. But I bought it anyway because of its still acceptable organ sound and all the other sounds, it’s interface and especially its weight and format.
I had Hammonds (SKXPro) too but I couldn’t handle the interface very well and the format and weight to pick it up and down a staircase for a gig. (60’s and 70’s music)
So now its a bit disappointing to have a nearly new stage with an old organ engines which are not working completely independent of each other just like the 2 piano- and the 3 synth engines. And even no Tonewheelsound at all.
But you’re right I made this choice myself and with the help from My keys to music I try to get more acknowledge of the NS4. Happily I also have still my Crumar Mojo 61

This may be your experience, but it's not at all true.Theosan wrote: ↑12 Jan 2025, 22:12 So now its a bit disappointing to have a nearly new stage with an old organ engines which are not working completely independent of each other just like the 2 piano- and the 3 synth engines. First of all, the three engines works independently from each-other, as do the two organ engines. And the organ sound in the NS4 isn't bad at all.
One always wants improvements, but if the NS4 doesn’t get the same organ engine as the Organ 3, the onboard engine on the NS4 is VERY usable.
This is on the NS4:
Organ simulations of B3, Vox/Farfisa and Pipe Organ models
Enhanced Rotary Speaker Drive
Drawbar Live mode
New B3 Bass mode
Enhanced model 122 Vintage Rotary Speaker with new drive including close or distant mic position
Your statement that the NS4 hasn’t any Tonewheelsound at all, is just rubbish.

Thankx for your reaction.I disagree with your opinion but I respect of course. I have seen the specs too but i just follow my ears. I bought the stage not because its a Nord but for the totak package. If I just want organ then U had bought a Hammond again.

Re: Organ section NS4
For me the Organ is the most important section on my NS4c. Including the Vox.
I delayed buying the S4 for over a year because the organ section had no improvement.
I’ve had S2 E2’s E4 E5 E6’s many S3’s. All of them had decent Organ sections. And from E4 on the rotary was good too.
But for me to spend many more thousands of pounds, I really hoped for even better Organ and Rotary. Or I might as well just stick with a couple of E6d’s.
So I waited over a year before spending.
The flagship model had improvements to the Piano and Synth engines from earlier models, but nothing for the Organ.
So I hope that an update will add as much of the new N3 Organ and Rotary as is possible. If not, it may not be considered the flagship model for very long.
