Hi guys, I need some advice about the following operation :
I have a Stage Classic Compact in MIDI with a Korg M1, and I want to change the program of the M1 one step (from 81 to 82) by just moving one step the value dial of the Stage in the Program Section, so I can change at the same time the program of the Stage and the program of the M1; I don´t want to use the parameter rotary encoder of the Extern Section, Is this possible ?
Thanks.
Diego

Re: I need MIDI advice
hi Diego!
yes, that is possible. what you can't do is jumping between different MODES in your Korg. so you have yo make up your mind whether you will work in PROG mode, COMBI mode or a multitimbral mode (don't remember what it's called in Korg language)...
1. first setup your Korg to recieve MIDI data on a specific MIDI channel.
2. on the Stage, enter MIDI MENU and set parameters like my post in this thread: general-discussion-about-the-nord-stage ... -t221.html
3. now find which MIDI PROGRAM CHANGE MESSAGE your Stage should be sending. check the MIDI data table in the manual for the Korg and look for "bank select" and the value for "LSB".
4. back to the Stage. select a PROGRAM that shall send MIDI data to your Korg. activate the EXTERN SECTION.
enter EXTERN MENU by pressing [SHIFT]+[4].
[PAGE +/-] to following menu
EXTERN MIDI A/B CHANNEL. press [PANEL A] and set channel to "X". press [PANEL B] and set channel to "X". (where X symbolizes your recieve channel on your Korg)
[PAGE +/-] to following menu
EXTERN MIDI A/B PROG BANK. set the value to the same as the "LSB" in your manual for the Korg.
[PAGE +/-] to following menu
EXTERN MIDI A/B PROG CHANGE. set a value between 1-128. this value represents the different locations in your voice bank on your Korg.
[PAGE +/-] to following menu
EXTERN MIDI SEND ON LOAD. set this to ON.
press [SHIFT] to exit EXTERN MENU.
5. press [STORE] to save your PROGRAM or [SHIFT]+[STORE] to save with another name and/or another location.
hope this helps!
