Dear all:

in an effort to get an easier overview of current bugs of the NS2, following a suggestion by Hanon_CTS I will start collection reported bugs in the first post of this topic.
That is, this post will get updated (for now, only Mods can edit this post) regularly taking into account the issues posted by members at the end of the thread.
So if you have a problem and think it is a bug of your NS, please continue posting them replying to this topic or refer to the ones already collected here!

General

• Dual KB doesn't work in split mode
• when switching from Slot A (without KB Zones) to Slot B (with KB Zones) the "Set Hi Split"- oder "Set Lo Split"-Knob is activated for both Zones.
• pressing shift + turning a knob should display the programmed value while not changing it. This doesn't work.
• With "local off" the dedicated Rotor speed control pedal, the MW (for morphing important) and the pitch stick doesn't work anymore. The CC values are not transmitted.
• Drive has too much Effect, no subtle Settings possible
• If you choose in "SYSTEM" menu "Ctrl Pedal Use as Swell: Yes" control pedal starts to work as swell pedal (like it's supposed) but it does not work any more as a control pedal
• Volume problems when Swell Pedal was used or previously connected Fixed in v1.32
• CC number 7 is not anymore working (NS2 does not respond to volume cc messages thru MIDI, which should work as long as SWELL is set to VOLUME, but doesn't)

Organ

• Can not assign rotary speed on the wheel. Was possible on EX. Fixed in v1.40
• When playing the organ section with another keyboard in "dual keyboard mode", the swell pedal behaves strangely when switching between panels A and B. Fixed in v1.40

Piano

Synth

• Saving all Synth-parameters with "Saving synth sound" (monophonic, unisono mode, glide, vibrato is not be saved when storing a synth sound. Fixed in v1.40

Effects

MIDI

• Extern section doesn't send Program Changes properly Fixed in v1.40
• Extern, "Send on Load" is not working Fixed in v1.40
• Extern, deactivating Keyboard (for External Control without sending Note On/Off) by pressing Shift+Extern On does not work Fixed in v1.30
• It should be possible to set a separate MIDI channel for each instrument in the MIDI menu, according to the manual. Fixed in v1.30
• Missing SysEx function and the ability to dump a program with all settings to a midi track in your host sequencer for fast recall. Fixed in v1.30
• When I depress the sustain pedal while doing a midi record in audio logic, the pedal off message is not recorded at the correct value 0. Fixed in v1.30
• MIDI Bank Change, Bank Select MSB (Control #0)is sent as Bank Select LSB (Control #32) and vice versa. This will be corrected in next OS update.

Here you can list every bug you have found in your Nord Stage 2.

Some people already said:

Thanks for creating this thread. Below is some clarification of the bugs I've submitted. I've send each of them to Clavia as well and they've said they are aware of them and will fix it in a future OS.
- Keyboard splits don't work in Dual KB mode. Turning on the Dual KB removes the splits and they can't be turned on.
- It should be possible to set a separate MIDI channel for each instrument in the MIDI menu, according to the manual. But the options are simply not in the menu.
- The problem with the Program Changes using the Extern section is that it doesn't send them when loading the program on the Stage. When I change the Program Change value in the MIDI menu or using the knob in the Extern section (if it's set to program change) it DOES send them. So it seems the "Send on load" function doesn't work.

I've found one more problem which is technically not NS2-related: the Piano Library v5 is not yet compatible with the new Release function in the NS2. The release function requires v5.2 samples, which are contained in the NS2 memory on delivery (and also in the factory backup ns2b-file). The Piano library on the website and on the CD contains only v5.0 or v5.1 samples which can be used in the NS2, but the Release function is disabled. Clavia said they're working on upgrading the library.

Clavia has released a big update for the NS2 at their website.
I didn't read it too thoroughly, but they fixed some of the stuff mentioned.

Seems like most of the bugs found so far is ok now. How ever I still miss the SysEx function and the ability to dump a program with all settings to a midi track in your host sequencer for fast recall.

Is there anyone more than me who miss this or how do you save your settings when working with a computer?

Well, the split function in Dual KB mode now works, which is good. The other bugs are not mentioned in the fix list, however.
The options for setting separate MIDI channels per instrument are still missing. The shift+knob turn feature also doesn't work. I will try the Program changes "send on load" in rehearsal tomorrow.

Seems the Program Changes are still a problem. Selecting a program on my NS2 does not send Program Change messages to my KORG over MIDI.
Can anybody confirm this problem? Or has anyone succeeded doing this?

I have the Piano/organ section on midi channel 1, synth on midi ch 2. When I record midi just with synth selected, the NS is still sending on Channel 1. Very annoying! Is this a known issue? thanks
