Sustain pedal through Midi question

Does anybody know how to avoid the sustain pedal connected to the nordstage to also work when using an external masterkeyboard with a separate sustain pedal?
I want to use the master on midichannel 1, with a piano selected. At the same time I play the nordstage itself on B with synth selected, but when I use the sustain on B it is also applied to the piano on A. I Hope sombody knows a way to avoid this?

i believe that just slecting the Extern section to have no sustain should theoretically work (press shift+octave up on the extern section). I have had some troubles using the NS as a controler, but play a while with the settings or just read the manual, I am sure you should eventually find an answer.

What I do know is that in the Midi (or was it the Extern) system menu, you can disable the NS to send data from aftertouch, the wheel, control pedal, but not the sutain pedal!

Mmm. I have gone through the manual carefully, also browsed this forum but could not find an answer.

Maybe it is good to explain oncemore:

I want to use the NS live, in combination with a midi weighted keyboard as master.
Then I use the NS on A as a soundmodule, especially for (e)piano sounds. So I play these (nice!) piano sounds through the master (on midi channel 1).
At the same time I use the B section on the NS itself for organ and synth sounds, so local.
I have a sustain pedal attached to both the NS and the masterkeyboard.

Now, when applying sustain with a pedal connected to the external master, it works for the A section, so I get piano sustained.
Then, when I use the other sustain pedal which is connected to the NS, I want it only to work for the instrumenst selected in B. But I then find that the NS sustain pedal in that case is also applied to the A section (even with the NS B selected).

I am afraid that this is something I will have to live with, or maybe this could be fixed in an update OS (option to turn local sustain on or off per A or B section)...

Oh I see what you mean there, I did misunderstood you there.

I am not really sure if you can do what you ask to do, I dont even think anyone ever considered that situation before! I do not currently have any other keyboard, so I cannnot really help you, sorry!

Gus, thanx for your reply: but it seems that I did not read the manual careful enough after all..:(
I have finally understand what can be done with the dual keyboard option.

Dual keyboard actually attaches an external (master) keyboard to the B panel. So B part is always played by the external master, even when switching the NS to B. NS itself (keybed and controllers) then only apply to A.
In that situation only the sustain coming from the external master is being applied to the B part. The A part can now be played from the NS itself, with all controlles attached to it.

The only thing why this is not optimal is that I sometimes want to use the NS without a master keyboard; In that case I want to use the sounds of A and B by switching between A and B and play it from the NS itself.
So I can choose: when playing on the NS alone, switching dual channel off per program selected, or also save all the programs without the dual keyb option selected (quite possible, because I think I have plenty of room one with 21x6 programs..)

Overall, I still think the NS is an amazing and fabulous machine!
