3300 SPEED CONTROL VIA C2D

Hey does anyone know if I can still use the 3 speed Leslie control mounted on my C2D, in conjunction with a 3300 Leslie? Or is that specifically for the Nord Les Sim control, only ?

Nope, if you hook your C2D to the 3300 with an 11-pin cable, the controls on the organ will work the Leslie. If I'm not mistaken, you can run the sim also, out the L&R outputs.

I assume the 3300 also has a trs socket that you could plug the half-moon switch into directly, if you were so minded.

I run a Sonorous rotary speaker this way as I haven't got the necessary 11-9 pin adapter. I've made a breakout cable so I can plug the half-moon switch directly in to the speaker cable. And as Mooser says, any signal can go to any outputs with the latest firmware updates.

No! The footswitch plug on the 3300 is a regular 1/4 mono plug! Any momentary-contact FS will do. All three speeds can be controlled, tap to switch between slow and fast, hold down for 2secs. to 'stop'. the footswitch is also used for the "return to factory speeds" process.
It's one hell of a box.
I'm practicing a lot these days, and I can listen to the 3300 all day on stop most of the time, without ear fatigue.

BTW, the Nord can also use a momentary contact footswitch plugged into the "rotary control" plug. OR you can plug a TRS halfmoon into it, you just change the program on the Nord, and it will also control the 3300.

So whatever you got will work.

(BTW, the video with Tony Monaco at Hammond showing the 3300 shows a two-button Leslie foot-switch with the 3300, this is a mistake)

They really did a good job with the 3300. They thought it out really well. No special footswitch needed. A Nord C2 or C2D and a 3300 is a pretty unbeatable combo, take it all around.

What I wonder (I'll have to test it out) is if the organs NOT directed to the rotary channel are present on the "stationary" channel leads in the 11-pin cord, and present at the two 1/4 plugs on the 3300 lower panel? Another words "B3" goes into the Leslie, and "Farf" "VX and pipe go to the stationary channel out plugs on the 3300, as well as the "left & Right" outputs on the organ.

That would indeed be wonderful; probably a bonus rather than an 'ought to be there', but everything else seems pretty well sorted.

I had intended to get a 3300 to go with my C2D, but it will depend on finances - I had it all pretty well lined up before a whole load of unscheduled stuff came up at the same time. Mind you, it took me 14 years to get an organ to add to my keyboard rig, so I'm used to the waiting game.

Well, if it's any comfort, the 3300 is the least expensive full size Leslie. Almost makes me wish I had children, so I could have rifled their piggy-bank and bought it sooner.

I do believe Jim Alfredson uses his Hammond rig like that in some cases. His half-moon controls both the rotors in his stage Leslie, and routes the organ, with sim, to the PA. It is also possible, I believe using a Vent. instead of internal sim.
