Re: What is the Warranty?
Call the shop where you bought it from, or the distributor in your country and ask. Warranty depends from place to place across countries and some retailers might give an extended warranty.

I don't recall repeating my Post?
I'll be more careful next time.
To be specific. What is the Factory Warranty on Nord 5D 73 Keyboards in the USA?

Re: What is the Warranty?
Why is it so hard to get an answer to my question? And something from Nord in writing? I feel it's a legitimate question. Especially when you're paying a premium price for their Keyboards.
I assume Nords do have Warranties in the USA. Or don't they?
I've talked to my Retailer & they think it has a 2 year Warranty. I talked to a Nord Customer Service Rep who says it has a 1 year Warranty.
In both cases I asked for the Actual Warranty in writing. Neither could or would provide it to me?
I'm not understanding why? Anybody able to shed some light on this?
Thanks,
Lucky

Re: What is the Warranty?
@Lucky: Just in case you didn't notice: This board is not run by Nord, and Nord (Clavia) does not participate in the discussions; it is a purely user-driver effort with interested individuals sharing their knowledge.
I'm afraid that not many here would be able to answer your question. I could maybe help with information on the legislation in the EU, but I have no knowledge of the US rules. I the EU, the general rules are describe here -- and it's called a "legal guarantee" here.
It is entirely possible that Nord could offer a 1 year full warranty (or guarantee) to their resellers, and at the same time some resellers may offer an extended 2 year warrany (guarantee), with the reseller taking the risk in the remaining period or some shared responsibility between the two. How it is set up between the two -- reseller and vendor -- is probably not governed by any customer protection rules, since it is a business-to-business transaction.
In some EU countries, you would be able to make claims directly to the vendor (here: Nord) -- which is handy in the case where a reseller goes out of business, but I'm not sure if this is the case in the US. This is governed by national legislation.
So in your case, if you haven't done any business with Nord directly (i.e. you bough from a reseller), and if there is no explicit legislation to give you rights towards the vendor concerning a failing product (and it is not a class-action suit?), then your only remedy is to address the company with whom you have made the transaction.
In other words: Have a look at your invoice first, to see what rights you have been granted -- or look at the terms and conditions of the deal at the time you executed the original transaction with the reseller. If that doesn't help, your only course of action is to address the reseller again. If they claim a 2 year period, you could hand in your instrument for repair(?) and ask for a receipt that says it is a warranty repair.

Re: What is the Warranty?
Just a note on the terminology, which is a little bit confused: “vendor” is the SELLER.
You need to distinguish between the MANUFACTURER (Clavia/Nord) and the vendor.
Manufacturer’s warranty is, AFAIK, one year. Vendors’ warranties vary.
The legally mandated EU warranty is a VENDOR warranty, i. e. a contract between the initial buyer (only the initial buyer) and the seller, designed to cover only issues already extant at the time of purchase. In most EU countries, that means the issue needs to show up within the first six months; after that, it’s up to the buyer to prove TO THE VENDOR (not Nord) that the problem was inherent when he bought the product.
In Germany, if you have a warranty issue and don’t take it up with the vendor (instead going to a local repair center or sending it in directly to Clavia), you may forfeit your legal EU warranty, because you didn’t give the vendor a chance to rectify the problem.

Re: What is the Warranty?
I bought my NP2 in Canada - one year warranty. If the store you purchased from cannot provide this in writing there is something wrong with the store.
I could have purchased an additional year from the store but declined.

Re: What is the Warranty?
Thanks for the feedback.
To be clear I bought my Nord new from an Authorized Dealer in New York. I'm not interested in Retail Stores Warranty Policy. I'm Interested in the Manufacturers Warranty from Nord.
Is there anyone here from the USA that knows the answer? Is there amything in writing? Aren't there laws in the USA pertaining to this?
Thank you,
Lucky

Re: What is the Warranty?
Lucky, it sounds like you’re trying to build a legal case. Even if anyone here knew, forum heresay would not stand up to that sort of scrutiny.
Having said that, my local dealer told me there was a one-year warranty on my E4. (They never had to honor it!)
