Nord Stage 4 - Glide Rate Range (Bug?)

I can confirm that the issue with intermittent broken Portamento still persists with firmware version 1.24
Note that Portamento is only broken on Synth engine 1. Synth engines 2 and 3 operate as expected.

Today I was working on Carry On Wayward Son.
For the descending Am part (I'm doubling the guitar), I want to use a Moog Lead type sound (with just a smidge of Portamento).
When switching to that patch for the first time today, Portamento (Synth engine 1) was broken.
Switch to a different patch and back... and Portamento worked as expected.
Switch to a different patch and back (2nd time)... and Portamento is again broken.
Totally intermittent. You never know when Portamento is going to work.

Firmware 1.06 works exactly as expected.
Never had any issues with Portamento until I tried moving to 1.08 and above.
Tried contacting Nord directly... and zero response.
I've just contacted them for the second time.
Here's hoping they respond.

In my Stage 4, v 1.24 the glide doesn't work on Slot C. I literally copy a sound with glide that works from slot A to C, and it stops
working. I'll rearrange the slots until they fix it.

Jim, it looks like Clavia has fixed something with the Glide function in the new OS 1.30:

"Synth Glide could become inactive for a Layer, if a non-pitched sample had previously been loaded. Fixed"

I'm curious of you can confirm that this issue is finally issued.

Hey Guys,

On My Stage 3 i used to set the Glide Rate to 10 (maximum) to create (pitching up) synth risers, which worked perfectly. On the new Stage 4 the same Glide Rate (10) is much faster, which is a huge problem (so i can't use it for risers anymore). I hope this is a bug and gets fixed soon (im on v 0.98). Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Hello, the glide rate hasn't been changed over the last year or so, however for the effect you are looking for, try the Oscillators "Pitch to Env". Initially set the OSC Env Decay to 43s (just below flat line), adjust "Env Amt" to a negative amount to set a starting note (some playing around is needed if you want a specific note to start), then adjust the OSC Env Decay for the duration of the glide you want (up to 43s). Env Amt can be morphed for using the effect only when you want on a patch. Take care.

FWIW, There was a bug fix with Portamento (Glide).
That fixed my (long-standing) issue with Portamento on Synth Engine 1.

I had been using a non-pitched sample in a previous patch.

Love the Nord Stage-4 88. Recently grabbed a Stage-4 Compact for tier two.
That's made life much easier on several songs (Carry On Wayward Son, etc)... where patch switching was getting difficult.
When it comes to getting things done (and sounding good doing it), it's hard to beat a Nord Stage 4.
