Hi,
I own the Nord Piano 5 which I use exclusively for Church Pipe Organ playing with the occasional piano stuff. I have bought sampled pipe organs sound that I have saved in the sample library.
Can you use the Nord Pedal Keys on the Nord Piano 5 (NP5)?
I know the NP5 has a MIDI In Port so I can at least connect it!
I'm just not sure how it would actually work. Can I select a sound from the sample library to use on the pedals? If so, how would I allocate it to the pedals specifically? Or would whatever sound is selected in the sample library on the NP5 simply play down the octaves on the BAS pedals?
I don't understand how the BAS pedals are pitched in comparison to the piano itself. Do the BAS pedals continue down below from where the piano starts? I don''t want the BAS pedals to play whatever I would normally play in the middle of the piano. They're BAS pedals for a reason, it needs to play the Bass line.
Thank you.

Re: Nord Pedal Keys 27 on Nord Piano 5
Hi and welcome to NUF,
Nord Pedal Keys 27 acts just as a MIDI master keyboard, sending on Channel 3 (if I remember well), but the problem is on NP5 unfortunately you only have 1 Global MIDI channel and you cannot address individual sections (like instead is possible on Nord Stages and partially on most recent Nord Electro 5-6), so even if you set NP5 MIDI channel on 3, what you will get is that the pedals would just play like their equivalent keys of the piano keyboard...
Using NP5 mainly for Church Organ playing is not really optimal (to say the least)... wrong tool for the purpose a Nord Electro would be much better.

Re: Nord Pedal Keys 27 on Nord Piano 5
Thanks for your reply.
That's fine. If the pedal keys play the sample instrument already selected in the sample library of my Nord Piano 5 but in the range C2 to D4 (as that is the pedal's range), that's sufficient for my needs.
I got the Nord Piano 5 and not Electro as occasionally I need it for Piano. The Nord Piano 5 also has a very generous sample library size limit making it perfect to fit all my sampled pipe organs on it.
