Bug? Layers sound when turned off if using KBD HOLD
NS4.
I think this is a bug... When I have a 2 synth layers switched on and using KBD HOLD, if I turn one layer off then that layer continues to sound. I can turn either layer off / on and both layers will sound until I turn both layers off.
With the layers off, KBD HOLD is still 'holding' the sound although you can't hear it until you turn one of the layers back on... at which point you can hear BOTH layers again.
Surely turning off a layer should stop it sounding, even with KBD HOLD turned on? You shouldn't have to turn off ALL layers to get a single layer to stop sounding...?

KB HOLD technically is just holding the key(s) not the sound, have you tried to do the same (switch off 1 layer only of the 2 being active) while keeping a key held manually, without using KB HOLD? Just to see if behaviour is the same or specific to KB HOLD being engaged.

Yep the behaviour is the same... if you hold a key (using fingers or KBD HOLD) then the section is still audible even when turned off... until all sections are off, at which point the sound stops.
A bug, surely?

or not, as that would be a part of what makes seamless transitions work. As long as a key is being pressed, it continues to sound even when a program change has occurred and the program your switching to could easily have the section turned off. you wouldn't want the sound to stop in the middle would you?

Hmm, I agree when changing program. But if I'm staying on the same program and turning a layer off, I expect the sound to stop.

This works the same as on the Nord Wave 2. It can be used in certain use cases.
I use it to keep a note/chord sustained/arp (or droning) with KBhold, turn the layer off and playing on the other layers.
I used it here viewtopic.php?t=19394, to keep an arp going.
