FZiegler wrote: 27 Feb 2025, 18:32This is one interpretation. The other: They already have a new Clavinet sound, but it's based on physical modelling. Which isn't supported by the piano engine on Nord hardware yet. So something that is to come some day. Just my blue sky thinking.
That would be great, but there is nothing to suggest this will ever happen. I do hope that more companies include modeling for instruments besides organs and synths. Korg, Crumar and Viscount have experimented with EP's and clavinets. I just don't see Nord making a huge change like that. They seem to be perfectly content pushing out minor updates to what they already have.
They will be consider enough to do that as far as the market is still responding positively (max result, min effort, any company would do that).

About Clavinet, I agree with people who say that since this is not happened so far it is pretty unlikely (or at least it would be a great surprise if they would); a trick to get something similar to release sound of Clavinet, at least on models that have 2 piano sections, is to layer it with the Lute harpsichord (kept at a reasonable lower volume)

Thanks, y'all. Appreciate the input! I'll submit feedback to Nord for sure.

FWIW I am digging the clav on the new Roland V-Stage, which seems to have release samples:

Hi all, OP here, just wanted to let you know Nord Support got back to me after I inquired about plans for a better Clavinet sound. Here's their reply:

"As for the Clavinet, it certainly is within our plans to provide a new/additional Clavinet sound, but as usual we cannot say anything specific about the time frame or other details, in advance. Regardless - it is something that is “on the list” here (and something we very much want to do, ourselves)."

Anyway, thought I would share... This is at least encouraging!

Thanks for reporting back - glad to hear that there's some interest on Nord's end. Would definitely appreciate some upgraded clav's (and Wurli's, maybe a Pianet).

I've liked the way the clav played on my Nords, because the release point is low (e.g. lower than it is for the pianos), so they sound nicely "snappy" when you play them, more so than on most other keyboards.
