Seems the Piano 6 must be coming soon. The Piano 5 is finally being discounted in the USA. $500 off for the 88 and $400 off for the 73. That makes a $800 difference between the P5 and P6. Same amount of storage. Same number of engines. But independent effects and a few differences in knobs/sliders and buttons. One big unknown, maybe, is the difference between the P5's "grand action" vs the P6's "Premium action".
I would love a digital piano in my living room and was considering a Nord Grand, mostly for the wife factor: it just looks nicer. But the original Nord Grand really is far less capable than the P5/P6. My other worry is going between my Stage 4 88 in my studio and a more heavy Nord Piano/Grand. That said, $3000 is a solid discount. Tough call all around.
What do you all think of the Piano 5 at $3,000 vs. the Piano 6 at $3,800?

All I wanted from the P5 was great piano sounds and a wonderful, expressive feel -- with a little sample/synth on the side. I can't think of anything that would make me want to upgrade.
I gig with the shorter version -- both standalone for duo/trio type things, as well as a weighted controller for my NS4C when playing with a full band.
So, yeah, if the P5 fits the bill for you, I'd say it's a good deal.

I think I have gear issues ....

Agreed. As a P5-73 owner I see nothing compelling about the Piano 6. I think the Piano 5 is a great deal at that price.cphollis wrote: ↑02 Apr 2025, 19:37 All I wanted from the P5 was great piano sounds and a wonderful, expressive feel -- with a little sample/synth on the side. P588 here. If anything, the fact that the P6 is out so soon with so little improvement is a tad annoying. I’m sure it’s wonderful, but the P5 is outstanding and that discount is fantastic.
