Elle King - Ex's and Oh's
Hi all - I'm sure some of you guys/gals are covering Elle King's "Ex's and Oh's". Anyone find a program they like for some of the chimey parts and the the synth pad that enters later in the song that you could share?

Hi.
I think we will start covering it next month and we can share what we've discovered. But having this:
It is just a synth sound that the keyboard has to play, and it's used all the song. YOu don't have 2 sounds.
I also take some looks sometimes here: http://www.karaoke-version.com/customba ... -oh-s.html
Or ?
Thanx

Just listening to the youtube video, the 'chime' reminds me of the 'ping' in Pink Floyd's 'Echoes', which was a piano played through a Leslie. Try routing any AP through the Leslie and see if it approximates.

Hi Guys,
Anyone did a program for this one? If not, no issue, I will use one of my synths, the synth is barely audible, even in the Back track provided by Cesarboicu...
Sincerely

Re: Elle King - Ex's and Oh's
Our band has decided to learn this song. I found this other video, which provides more views of when the keyboard player is playing and not playing, and shows that the distorted bass sound is not being made by the keys:
So it seems that the bass sound being made by the keys is a more conventional synth bass sound - probably any relatively normal synth bass sound will do for this, since those low notes will also be played by a conventional bass guitar.
More important is the high part. I ended up selecting a recorder sound on another synth I have (a Roland XV) because I cannot split my Electro 3. When I play recorder notes that high, they don't sound that different from the recording, and while playing this live, that will be plenty close enough.

We have been playing this for more than a year. Verse parts I play with a Wurlitzer type patch on my Alesis and the chorus sections I do with a B3 patch on my Nord.
its not the instrumentation on the record, but guess what, it sounds great anyway.
